Overview
A 9 dBi UHF RFID PCB antenna for aimed, longer read zones
The IDTS-RA9350 is a larger, higher-gain directional PCB antenna than the RA8190. Its 9 dBi gain is concentrated into a beam 40° wide horizontally and 70° vertically, so the read zone reaches further forward while staying narrow side to side. That shape suits a doorway, a cabinet front or a portal lane, where you want to read what passes in front and ignore what sits next to it.
Made for concealed installation
The board measures 350 × 200 mm but is only 12 mm thick and weighs 450 g, so it slips into a door frame, wall cavity or cabinet side panel and stays out of sight. It works on 865–868 MHz, the band Indian UHF RFID readers are set to, and handles up to 50 W input with DC-ground lightning protection.
Where it is used
- Door access control: in or beside the door frame to read UHF cards or tags as people approach.
- Smart cabinets: inside a cabinet or cage panel to log tagged stock or cargo going in and out.
- Portals and long-range inventory: beside a lane or above a bay where tagged items pass at a distance.
Aiming and connection
Because the horizontal beam is only 40° wide, aim the board at the centre of the zone and test with your own tags before fixing it; a few degrees of tilt changes what it sees. The side cable ends in an SMA-female connector. No IP rating is stated for it, so plan for indoor use or mounting inside a sealed housing. For a smaller board with an even 70° × 70° beam, see the IDTS-RA8190 8 dBi PCB antenna; for door setups, read how to set up RFID door access.
Typical applications
- Door access control
- Smart cabinets
- Long-range inventory
- RFID portals
- Industrial RFID systems
