Overview
What the IL868 invisible RFID cabinet lock does
The IL868 is fitted on the inside of a drawer, cabinet or locker, so nothing shows on the outside of the furniture: no keyhole, no keypad, no visible lock. To open it, the user holds an authorised card, wristband or key fob against the panel, within 0–5 cm of the lock. A motor-driven stainless steel latch then releases the door or drawer.
Why choose a hidden lock
- Nothing on show to tamper with. With no lock body on the outside, there is no cylinder to pick or force.
- Furniture keeps its look. Desks, file cabinets and wardrobes stay clean, which matters in offices and hotel rooms.
- Simple retrofit. It runs on four AAA batteries, so no cables have to be routed through the cabinet.
Planning the installation
Hidden RFID locks read the credential through the door or drawer front, so they are meant for wood, laminate, MDF or plastic panels; RFID signals do not pass through sheet steel. Keep the panel thin enough that the card comes within the 5 cm read distance, and allow about 15 × 8 × 5 cm of space inside for the lock body.
The lock weighs about 0.25 kg in its polycarbonate housing and is rated for -20 °C to +85 °C, so it suits storerooms and furniture in non-air-conditioned rooms as well as offices.
Where it is used
The IL868 is listed for storage lockers, cabinets, deposit lockers and file lockers. Typical installs are staff drawers for personal belongings, file cabinets in HR or accounts, and deposit lockers behind a reception counter.
Cards, fobs and wristbands
The lock is listed for 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz credentials with an ISO 14443A air interface. Users can carry a card, a key fob or an RFID wristband, whichever is easiest to keep with them. Tell us the card type you already use when ordering so the credentials and locks match. For locks that mount on the outside of the door, see all RFID Locks.
