The CX-2000 is a small Android handheld with a UHF RFID reader built in, made for staff who count stock every day rather than once a quarter. It reads EPC Gen2 tags on the 865–868 MHz Indian band at a practical 3–5 m with standard inlays: enough to sweep a shelf bay or a garment rail from the aisle, without the bulk of a long-range industrial terminal.
Why choose a compact handheld
Long-range handhelds are built to read pallets and high racking from many metres away. In a retail store, a pharmacy back room or an office, that reach can work against you, because the reader also picks up stock from the next aisle. A 3–5 m reader keeps each count tied to the area in front of the operator, and a lighter body is easier to carry through a long stocktake.
Apps and connectivity
The CX-2000 runs Android 9.0 with Google Play, so you can install a ready-made inventory app or deploy your own. Counts sync to your WMS or retail system over Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 links peripheral devices, and there is a USB-C port. An optional 2D barcode scanner lets the same device check barcoded items while a store is part-way through moving to RFID.
Battery and build
A 3,000 mAh battery powers the reader and can be replaced, so a charged spare keeps a long count going. The housing is IP54 rated against dust and splashing water, which suits shop floors and stock rooms rather than open yards. The 4-inch HD touchscreen is large enough for count screens and item look-ups.
