Overview

Printed RFID ID cards that work with your existing readers

This is the ID card your staff actually wear: printed with your logo, the employee’s name, photo and card number, with an RFID chip inside for attendance and door access. It is the standard CR80 size (86 × 54 mm) at 760 microns, so it fits normal card holders, lanyards and slot punches, and comes in a gloss or matte finish.

HF or LF: match the reader first

The card is made in two frequencies, and the one you order must match the readers on your walls:

  • 13.56 MHz (HF) is the band used by MIFARE and other HF/NFC credentials.
  • 125 kHz (LF) is the band used by EM-type proximity readers on many older attendance and door systems.

An HF reader will not read an LF card, or the other way round. Check the reader label or manual, or send us its make and model. Our guide to matching eSSL, ZKTeco and door readers before printing covers this step.

What to send with your order

  1. Reader details. Make, model and frequency of your attendance or access readers.
  2. Artwork. Card design with logo, colours and layout.
  3. Data. Names, photos and card numbers, plus any numbering format your software expects.
  4. Finish. Gloss or matte.

Prefer to print in-house? Order plain HF RFID cards or plain LF cards instead.

Frequently asked questions

What size and thickness is the card?
86 × 54 mm, the standard CR80 ID-card size, at 760 microns (about 0.8 mm). It fits standard card holders, lanyards and slot punches.
Should I order 13.56 MHz or 125 kHz?
Order the frequency your existing readers use. 13.56 MHz is the HF band used by MIFARE and NFC credentials; 125 kHz is the LF band used by EM-type proximity readers. An HF reader cannot read an LF card, so if in doubt send us your reader make and model.
Can each card carry a different name, photo and number?
Yes. Cards are personalised individually with names, photos and card numbering alongside your logo, and can be encoded so the card number matches your attendance or access control software.
How close does the card need to be to the reader?
These are proximity cards: staff hold or tap the card at the reader. The exact distance depends on the reader, so mount readers where the card can be presented easily.
