What the ID-ANT-5CP 5 dBi UHF antenna is for
The ID-ANT-5CP is a small external UHF RFID antenna for places where a larger panel will not physically fit and tags are read at short to medium distance. At 200 × 200 × 30 mm, it can sit under a billing counter, inside a self-service kiosk or within an access-control pedestal.
The modest 5 dBi gain keeps the read zone compact. At a POS counter, that helps the reader focus on the items in front of the cashier rather than the stock on the racks behind.
Why circular polarization helps at a counter
Garment tags hang at random angles and customers put items down any way round. A circularly polarized antenna reads tags across a wide range of orientations, whereas a linear antenna of the same gain can miss tags that do not line up with it.

Installation and connection
Four M4 threaded inserts on the back take standard VESA or wall brackets. The IP65 aluminium housing suits indoor use and lightly sheltered outdoor spots. The antenna has an N female port (50 Ω, VSWR ≤ 1.5) rated for 2 W continuous input, and optional 1 m, 3 m or 5 m cables with SMA or TNC connectors can be ordered with it.
This antenna is listed for 902–928 MHz. UHF RFID readers in India operate at 865–868 MHz, so confirm the band variant before ordering for use in India.
