Overview
What the ID-ANT-105CP 10.5 dBi UHF antenna is built for
The ID-ANT-105CP is a large-aperture external antenna for fixed UHF RFID readers covering big, open spaces. Its 440 × 440 mm panel concentrates the reader's energy into a beam with 10.5 dBi of gain. The listed read range is 10–15 m in open air and 8–12 m in a typical indoor warehouse; your figure will depend on the reader, tags, cable length and what surrounds the read point.
Right-hand circular polarization means the antenna does not depend on which way a tag faces, which helps where windshield tags, pallet labels and asset tags sit at different angles.
Where it is used
- Vehicle entry gates and boom barriers: an overhead or pole-mounted antenna reads windshield or number-plate UHF tags as vehicles approach.
- Outdoor yards: tracking containers, trailers and heavy equipment across a large area with fewer antennas.
- High-bay racking: ceiling-mounted reading of pallet tags on tall racks.
- Construction site perimeters: logging tagged equipment and workers through boundary checkpoints.
- Large dock-door arrays: where long cable runs reduce the power reaching each antenna.
Built for outdoor mounting
The 1.8 kg aluminium housing is sealed to IP67 and rated from −40 °C to +80 °C, so it can be mounted on a pole, wall or gantry outdoors. It connects through an N female port (50 Ω, VSWR ≤ 1.5) and accepts up to 5 W continuous input.
The spec sheet lists this antenna at 902–928 MHz. UHF RFID readers in India operate at 865–868 MHz, so confirm the band variant with us before ordering for an Indian site.
Planning the read point
Pair the antenna with a fixed reader that has external antenna ports, such as our 4-port UHF RFID readers, and keep the coaxial run as short as the layout allows. For vehicle access, use UHF windshield tags; for yards and racks, choose tags made for the surface they go on.
If you need a narrower beam for a single lane, or a smaller zone indoors, compare gain options in our RFID antenna guide and the full RFID antenna range.
Typical applications
- Vehicle entry gates
- Boom barrier lanes
- Container and trailer yards
- High-bay warehouse racking
