Overview
What the ID-CL-03 RFID locker lock does
The ID-CL-03 is an electronic locker lock for changing rooms in gyms, swimming pools, saunas and water parks, where keys get lost and pockets get wet. Users lock and open it with an RFID wristband, key fob or card held within 3 cm, and the door opens by itself once access is granted. Each lock runs on its own batteries, so a full bank of lockers can be fitted without wiring.
Running a day-use locker room in public mode
- Pick a locker. The guest chooses any free locker; in public mode any valid wristband can lock any available one.
- Lock it. They close the door and present their wristband.
- Watch occupancy. A red LED flashes every five seconds on occupied lockers, so attendants can spot free ones at a glance.
- Open it. On return, the guest presents the same wristband to release the door.
Assigned lockers for members and staff
Monthly members and staff usually want their own locker. Private mode, the factory default, pairs each lock with one person's credential, and that credential works only on that lock. Lockers holding shared equipment can be set to open only when two different cards are presented.
Wristbands for wet areas
The card types listed for this lock are ID and TIMIC, which are 125 kHz proximity types, and MIFARE, which works at 13.56 MHz. Around pools and saunas a waterproof wristband is more practical than a card; the C08 adjustable silicone wristband and the wider range of silicone RFID wristbands are made for this kind of use. Match the wristband chip to the card type you choose for the locks.
Power and maintenance
Each lock takes four AA alkaline batteries (6 V DC), rated for more than a year per set, and is rated for -20 °C to +70 °C at up to 95% humidity. A red LED warns when the voltage falls below 4.8 V, leaving more than 50 openings to schedule a battery change, and attendants can open a locker mechanically in an emergency. Our RFID locker lock guide covers dead-battery opening across lock types.
