Overview

40 × 25 mm on-metal RFID asset label for IT and equipment

Many organisations already print 40 × 25 mm barcode labels for their fixed-asset register. The ID-4025-U8 keeps that footprint but adds a UHF RFID chip and an anti-metal foam spacer, so it can be fixed straight onto server racks, computer chassis, lab instruments and production machinery and still read at 2–5 m.

Keep your existing label layout

The PET face takes thermal transfer printing, so your current template (barcode, running asset number and department code) prints unchanged while the EPC is written to the chip. Staff who check labels by eye or with a barcode gun carry on as before, while audit teams use a UHF handheld reader to log the tagged assets in a room without line-of-sight scanning.

Typical deployments

  • Data centres: rack and server audits, and exit alerts where fixed readers are installed.
  • IT hardware: laptops, monitors, projectors and scanners.
  • Factory floors: motors, pumps, control panels and PLC cabinets.
  • Laboratories: instruments tracked against calibration due dates.
  • Government and PSU registers: annual physical verification of fixed assets.

The fixed asset audit guide covers tagging, mapping and reconciliation step by step.

Typical applications

  • Server racks
  • Laptops and monitors
  • Factory machinery
  • Lab instruments
  • Control panels
  • PSU fixed-asset registers

Frequently asked questions

What read range does the ID-4025-U8 give on metal?
2–5 m when fixed directly to metal, depending on the reader antenna and the surface. It operates at 865–868 MHz, India’s UHF RFID band.
Can it be printed like a normal asset label?
Yes. The PET face accepts thermal transfer printing, so asset numbers, barcodes and logos are printed while the EPC is encoded. Its 40 × 25 mm size matches the common IT asset label, so most existing templates fit.
How is it attached?
With a 3M high-bond industrial acrylic adhesive. Apply it to a clean, dry, grease-free surface; it is rated for −20 °C to +80 °C.
Can I order the labels pre-encoded?
Yes. They are available blank or pre-encoded, for example with your asset numbering. Mention the format when you request a quote.
What is the difference between the ID-4025 and the ID-4025-U8?
Both are 40 × 25 mm. The ID-4025 is a PET label for cartons, bins and pallets, while the ID-4025-U8 has an anti-metal foam spacer for fixing directly on metal assets.
