Overview

Small flexible on-metal RFID label that replaces the asset sticker

Most IT and admin teams already put a printed asset sticker on laptops, docking stations, switches and UPS units. The ID-30X15 does the same job on metal bodies but adds a UHF RFID number, so an auditor confirms each asset with a reader instead of finding and scanning every barcode. Because it is a thin, bendable label rather than a moulded block, it sits flat on a laptop lid and follows tight curves on tool handles and instrument housings.

Applying it correctly

  1. Clean. Remove oil or coolant and let the spot dry; contamination is the usual reason small labels lift.
  2. Print and encode. Print the asset number and barcode and write the same number to the tag in one pass, then read-test each label.
  3. Apply. Lay the label along its 30 mm length and press outwards from the centre so no air is trapped.
  4. Position. Keep it clear of weld beads and sharp edges, with the printed face towards where readers will be used.

For room-by-room audits, pair it with a UHF handheld reader. The fixed asset audit guide explains tagging, mapping and reconciliation.

Typical applications

  • Laptops and docking stations
  • Network switches and UPS
  • Workshop hand tools
  • Valves and instruments
  • Jigs and fixtures
  • Motor housings

Frequently asked questions

Will a 30 × 15 mm label read on a laptop or a steel tool?
Yes. The ID-30X15 is made for on-metal asset tracking, unlike a standard paper RFID label, and its thin flexible substrate suits both flat and curved metal surfaces.
What read range should I expect?
Up to 6 m. The actual distance depends on the reader, antenna, tag orientation and the surrounding metal, so trial a few labels on your own assets before a large rollout.
Can we print our existing asset label design on it?
Yes. The face is printable on standard UHF RFID printers, so the asset number and barcode are printed while the tag is encoded. Labels can also be supplied printed and pre-encoded; mention this when requesting a quote.
Is it legal to use in India?
Yes. Passive UHF tags like this one are read by readers working in India’s licence-exempt 865–868 MHz band, and the label’s 860–960 MHz response covers that band. Any standard EPC Gen2 reader sold for Indian use will work.
