Overview

30 × 15 mm on-metal RFID label for small metal assets

The ID-3015-U8 is for metal items too small for a standard asset label: torque wrenches, calibrated gauges, narrow pipe runs, breaker panel doors and the bezel strip of a network switch. Its anti-metal foam layer keeps the UHF antenna working when the label sits directly on steel or aluminium, giving 1–3 m read range on metal.

Made for curved and damp locations

The label is flexible, so it follows a pipe, conduit or cylindrical tank instead of lifting at the edges, and a high-tack industrial acrylic adhesive holds it in place. The IP67 rating (dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water) suits damp plant rooms and pipework that gets wet, within the −20 °C to +70 °C operating range.

Print and encode in one pass

The white top face accepts thermal transfer printing, so a barcode, QR code or asset number sits on the same label as the RFID number. Print and encode together on a UHF RFID printer, then audit tool cribs or pipe racks with a UHF handheld reader. Larger formats are listed in the on-metal RFID tag range.

Typical applications

  • Hand tools and gauges
  • Pipes and conduit
  • Electrical panels
  • IT equipment chassis
  • Network switches
  • Plant asset registers

Frequently asked questions

Does the ID-3015-U8 work on metal surfaces?
Yes. It is built on an anti-metal foam layer and reads at 1–3 m when mounted directly on steel, aluminium and other metals that would detune an ordinary RFID label.
Can it be fitted to pipes and other curved surfaces?
Yes. The flexible construction conforms to pipes, conduit and cylindrical tanks as well as flat panels, and the high-tack industrial acrylic adhesive holds it in place. Clean and dry the surface before applying.
Can it be used in wet or damp areas?
Yes. It carries an IP67 rating (dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water) and operates from −20 °C to +70 °C, so it suits damp plant rooms and pipework that gets wet within that range.
What frequency and protocol does it use?
It operates at 865–868 MHz, India’s UHF RFID band, and follows EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C, so it works with standard UHF fixed readers and handhelds.
Can I print our asset numbers on it?
Yes. The white face takes thermal transfer printing for a barcode, QR code or asset number, and the EPC can be written in the same pass on a UHF RFID printer.
