58 × 15 mm sew-in UHF RFID laundry tag for hotel linen and workwear
The ID-L5815 is a mid-sized laundry tag built to be stitched in. It carries an NXP UCODE 9xe chip on EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C and reads at up to 8 m, depending on reader, antenna and environment. The 58 × 15 mm size fits the hem of a bath towel, the inside of a bathrobe, a sheet corner or a jacket side seam.
Why sew instead of iron on
Terry towelling, bathrobes and other looped or textured fabrics give a heat-applied tag very little flat surface to bond to. A stitched tag does not depend on that bond, which is why sewing is the usual choice for towels and robes. If most of your items are smooth polycotton, the iron-on ID-L5815-I comes in the same size and saves the sewing step.
Setting up a hotel linen pool
- Tag one item type at a time and place the tag in the same spot on every piece.
- Record each EPC against item type, property and date put into service.
- Use a handheld for floor and store-room counts, and a tunnel or portal reader at the laundry for in and out counts.
