Overview

35 × 15 mm sew-in UHF RFID laundry tag for small textiles

Small items are usually the first to go missing from a linen pool: napkins, face and hand towels, pillowcases and small garments. The ID-L3515 is sized for them. At 35 × 15 mm it can be stitched into a corner hem or beside a care label without stiffening the item, and its NXP UCODE 9xe chip reads on the same UHF equipment as larger laundry tags.

The sizing trade-off

A smaller tag means a smaller antenna. The rated read range is up to 8 m, but small tags generally lose more margin than large ones when buried in a dense, damp bundle. Where an item has room, such as a bath towel or bedsheet, a bigger tag like the 58 × 15 mm ID-L5815 gives more headroom. Keep this size for items where space is the real limit.

Sewing tips

  • Encode and log each tag before it reaches the sewing table.
  • Stitch around the tag or into a small fabric pocket; keep the needle off the chip.
  • Put the tag in the same place on every item of a type so handheld checks are quick.

Prefer heat application? The ID-L3515-I is the iron-on version of this size.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ID-L3515 used for?
It is sewn into linen, garments and uniforms for laundry management. The small 35 × 15 mm size suits napkins, hand towels, pillowcases and other items too small for a larger tag.
What is the read range of this tag?
Up to 8 m, depending on the reader, antenna and environment. In laundries, tags are usually read in bulk inside trolleys or through a tunnel reader, where dense, wet linen shortens the effective distance.
How is RFID used in laundry and linen management?
Each item gets a unique ID, so a full trolley can be counted in seconds instead of sorted by hand. Hospitals, hotels and commercial laundries use this to track stock levels, item ownership and circulation. Our RFID laundry and linen guide covers the full set-up.
Can the tags be supplied pre-encoded?
Yes. Bulk orders can be pre-encoded with your numbering, or you can encode them yourself on any standard UHF RFID reader or printer.
