Overview
Iron-on UHF RFID laundry tag in a 58 × 15 mm size
The ID-L5815-I is fixed to fabric with heat rather than thread. That takes the sewing bench out of the tagging process: each item is encoded, positioned and pressed, so a new batch of uniforms or sheets can be tagged in one pass. The 58 × 15 mm footprint sits in the middle of the ID-L range, wide enough for a sheet hem or the inside of a shirt front and small enough to go unnoticed.
Where an iron-on tag works best
- Smooth, flat fabrics such as polycotton uniforms, sheets and pillow covers, where the tag has full contact with the cloth
- New stock tagged in large batches before it enters circulation
- Programmes that cannot spare tailoring time for every item
For terry towels, textured weaves or items that are scrubbed hard, the sew-in ID-L5815 (58 × 15 mm) is the safer choice. It has the same size and chip, so both versions can run in one system.
Applying and reading
Encode the EPC before pressing so every item is on record from its first wash. Trial heat-press temperature and dwell time on a few pieces of each fabric, then wash-test them through your own process before a full rollout.
