Overview

ID-L3515-I iron-on UHF laundry tag, 35 × 15 mm

The ID-L3515-I is the iron-on version of our 35 × 15 mm laundry tag. Instead of being stitched, it is bonded to the fabric with a heat press, which removes the sewing step when hundreds of garments need tagging and leaves no stitch line on the outside. Its small footprint suits collars, cuffs, waistbands, pillowcases and other places with little flat fabric.

Applying an iron-on tag

  1. Choose the spot. Pick a flat, clean area away from thick seams, and use the same position on every item of a type.
  2. Press. Bond the tag with a heat press, after trialling temperature and time on a sample of your fabric.
  3. Check. Read the tag after pressing and again after a first wash before tagging the full batch.

Reading and encoding

The NXP UCODE 9xe chip reads at up to 8 m across 860–960 MHz, which includes India's 865–868 MHz band, and works with standard UHF RFID readers and printers. Range drops on wet or tightly stacked linen and near metal trolleys. If you prefer stitching, the same size comes as the ID-L3515 sew-in tag. The RFID laundry guide covers readers and software.

Typical applications

  • Staff uniforms
  • Pillowcases and napkins
  • Towels
  • Hospital textiles
  • Commercial laundries

Frequently asked questions

What is the read range of the ID-L3515-I?
Up to 8 m, depending on the reader antenna and environment. Range shortens when linen is wet, densely packed or close to metal trolleys.
How is an iron-on laundry tag applied?
With a heat press, directly onto the fabric and without stitching. Trial the press temperature and time on your own fabric, then check that the tag reads before tagging a full batch.
Iron-on or sew-in: which should I choose?
Iron-on is quicker for large batches and leaves no visible stitching. Sew-in gives a stitched fixing that some laundries prefer for heavy workwear. The 35 × 15 mm size is available both ways.
Is this UHF laundry tag suitable for use in India?
Yes. It works across 860–960 MHz, which includes India's licence-exempt 865–868 MHz UHF band, with any EPC Gen2 reader set to that band.
