Overview
What the ID-BL-01 Bluetooth RFID cabinet lock does
The ID-BL-01 is a battery-powered cabinet and locker lock with two ways in: a 13.56 MHz RFID credential held within 3 cm of the lock, or a Bluetooth connection. It is aimed at offices, clubs, hotels and saunas, where cards and wristbands handle everyday access and Bluetooth gives a second route in. The zinc alloy and ABS body is made for daily handling.
Why add Bluetooth to a cabinet lock
On Bluetooth-capable locks, access usually comes from a paired smartphone. That route is useful when the person who needs to open a cabinet does not have a card on them, for example a manager covering a shift. If you plan to rely on Bluetooth, test it with your own phones on a single lock before fitting a whole bank of lockers.
Check your card frequency first
This model works at 13.56 MHz only, the HF band that NFC also uses. Many older attendance and door systems in India issue 125 kHz proximity cards, and those will not open the ID-BL-01. Order 13.56 MHz HF cards, key fobs or wristbands with it, or choose a dual-frequency model such as the ID-RP-01 if your existing cards are 125 kHz.
Assigned or shared lockers
Private mode, the factory setting, ties each lock to one person's credential, which fits staff cabinets and club members with their own locker. Public mode turns a row of lockers into first-come storage: any valid credential locks any free unit, and a red light flashes every five seconds on occupied ones. That suits hotel spas and saunas where guests stay for a few hours.
Batteries and emergency access
The lock runs on four AA alkaline batteries (6 V DC), rated for more than a year per set, and a low-power Texas Instruments controller keeps standby draw at 5–10 µA. Below 4.8 V a red LED warns that a change is due, and the lock keeps working for more than 50 further openings. If the batteries are left too long, the lock can be opened mechanically.
