Overview

NFC temperature sensor logger for cold-chain cartons

A temperature excursion in transit often goes unnoticed until stock is opened or rejected. The ID-SE-FM13DT160 is a 77 × 44 mm logger label built on the Fudan FM13DT160 sensor chip. It records temperature data together with the tag’s own identity, so the history of a carton, box or tote can be checked when it arrives.

How readout works

The label communicates over NFC at 13.56 MHz. NFC is a close-range technology, typically read within a few centimetres using an NFC reader or a smartphone running a compatible app. The 160 kbit memory keeps the logged data on the label itself, so the record travels with the goods.

Because NFC reads one item at a time, it suits receiving checks, quality release and spot audits rather than reading a whole pallet in one pass.

Logger label or UHF sensor label?

If you need temperature readings from a distance with a UHF reader, compare the ID-SE-AS3213T UHF temperature sensor label, which reports the temperature when it is read. For the wider picture, see our cold chain temperature monitoring guide or browse RFID sensors.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ID-SE-FM13DT160 do?
It is a 77 × 44 mm NFC temperature sensor logger label. It records temperature data alongside its tag identity, which is read out later, typically when a cold-chain shipment is received.
How is the logger read?
Over NFC at 13.56 MHz, from a few centimetres away, using an NFC/HF reader or an NFC smartphone with software that supports the FM13DT160 chip. UHF RFID readers do not read NFC tags.
Can it be stuck on metal or on a liquid container?
Label-format tags do not read reliably when applied directly to metal, and liquids can also reduce performance. Place it on the carton or outer packaging, and trial it on your actual packaging before rollout.
What logging interval and accuracy does it offer?
These details are not listed on this page. Ask for the datasheet when you request a quote, and test a sample on a real shipment before ordering in volume.
