Overview

What the UHA-800 Bluetooth UHF RFID handheld reader does

The UHA-800 is a handheld UHF RFID reader with a hand grip and trigger. It does the reading, while a paired phone, tablet or PC runs the app. Press the trigger and tag numbers go over Bluetooth or a USB Type-C cable into your software. LED indicators and a speaker confirm power, mode, connection and read status.

Inside is an Impinj Indy R2000 reader chip with a 4 dBi circularly polarised antenna. Read range is 0–8 m depending on tag and environment, and RF power can be set anywhere from 0 to 30 dBm to suit a dense shelf or an open floor.

Works with the devices you already have

  • iOS and Windows: pair it with an iPhone, iPad or Windows PC.
  • HID keyboard emulation: the reader types tag numbers into any field that accepts keyboard input, such as a spreadsheet or a billing screen, without custom software.
  • Bluetooth 2.0 / 2.1 + EDR: a link of 10 m or more to the host device.
  • USB 2.0 Type-C: wired connection and fast charging.

Battery and handling

A 3.7 V 5,000 mAh lithium-ion battery supports about 8 hours of continuous work and fast-charges over USB Type-C. The ergonomic shape has a hand grip and a magnet, the reader weighs 0.4 kg, and it works from -20 °C to +55 °C.

Barcode and sensor options

The UHA-800 carries a 1D laser or 2D imager barcode scanner, so the same device handles tagged and barcoded items during a gradual move to RFID. Its firmware supports match reading and data filters, and reading of RFID temperature and humidity sensor tags can be customised for storage or cold-chain checks.

Who it suits

It suits teams that already carry phones or tablets and want UHF RFID without buying a full Android handheld computer, for stock counts, asset verification and goods-in checks. Typical applications

  • Warehouse stock counts
  • Retail stocktaking
  • Asset verification
  • Goods-in checks
  • Temperature sensor tag reads

Frequently asked questions

What is the read range of the UHA-800?
0–8 m depending on the tag and the environment. It uses an Impinj Indy R2000 chip with a 4 dBi circular antenna, and RF output is adjustable from 0 to 30 dBm, so you can lower power for dense shelves or raise it for longer reads.
How long does the battery last?
The 5,000 mAh battery supports about 8 hours of continuous working, and it fast-charges through the USB Type-C port.
Will it connect to an iPhone or a Windows laptop?
Yes. It is compatible with iOS and Windows over Bluetooth 2.0 / 2.1 + EDR (10 m or more) or USB 2.0 Type-C, and HID keyboard emulation lets tag numbers go straight into existing software.
Can the UHA-800 read RFID temperature sensor tags?
Reading of RFID temperature and humidity sensor data can be customised on this reader. Share the sensor tag model you plan to use when you ask for a quote.
