Overview

What the IDTS-HBWR Bluetooth wristband RFID reader does

The IDTS-HBWR is a small RFID reader that pairs with a phone or tablet over Bluetooth (BLE 4.0), or connects to a Windows PC over USB. One reader body fits four sets of accessories, so the same unit can be worn on the wrist, fixed to a telescopic rod, hung as a pendant or placed on a desk. It suits staff who need both hands free, or who have to reach tags on high shelves without a ladder.

Check your tag type first

The specification for this reader is UHF: ISO 18000-6C (EPC Gen2 Class 1) tags at 860–960 MHz, with an FCC or ETSI band option. It is not specified for 13.56 MHz MIFARE or NFC cards. For use in India, ask for the ETSI option, which covers the 865–868 MHz band, and send us a sample of your tag so we can confirm it reads.

Four ways to use one reader

Wristband

Worn on the wrist so pickers and stock-takers can read tags while handling goods.

Telescopic rod

Fitted to a selfie-stick style rod to reach tags on upper racking or overhead.

Pendant

Worn on the chest for hands-free reading during rounds and audits.

Desktop

Set on a desk and connected over USB to read or write tags at a PC.

Battery and everyday use

A 550 mAh battery gives about 3 hours of continuous work, rated at over 30,000 queries, and recharges from a 5 V / 0.5 A USB supply in about 2 hours. A twist switch turns it on, three LEDs show power, connection and working status, and a built-in beeper confirms reads. The body is ABS + PC engineering plastic, rated for -20 °C to +60 °C.

Read distance is up to 50 cm depending on tag size, so this is a close-range tool for picking, spot checks and item look-ups in warehouses, logistics, transport and retail, not a replacement for a full UHF handheld. For longer range or bulk stock counts, compare our RFID handheld readers, and read whether a phone can read UHF tags to see how Bluetooth readers work with mobile apps.

Typical applications

  • Warehouse stock checks
  • Logistics and transport
  • Retail inventory
  • Hands-free tag reading
