Overview

What the UTW01 UHF tamper-proof wristband does

The UTW01 is a single-use PVC wristband with a UHF EPC Gen2 chip. Its snap-fit plastic clasp cannot be opened and refitted without visible damage, so a band issued to one guest cannot be handed to another. Because it is UHF, it is read at a distance rather than tapped, which keeps entry lanes moving at large events.

Where it is used

  • Festivals and concerts: multi-day zone access, with portal readers checking bands as people walk through.
  • Waterparks and resorts: IP68 waterproof PVC for day passes worn in the pool.
  • Hospitals: patient identification that stays on for the whole stay.
  • Sports events and marathons: participant ID and timing points.

Read range and readers

The UTW01 reads at 0.5–3 m with a handheld reader and up to 8 m at a portal. On the wrist, real range depends on reader power, the antenna and how the band sits, because the body absorbs UHF signal, so test a few bands at your own gate before a large order. Our RFID handheld readers cover spot checks at doors and wards.

Bands come in adult and child sizes and can be printed in full colour with your logo, event name, barcode or QR code. If you need an HF option, see the P01 PVC tamper-proof RFID wristband.

Frequently asked questions

How does the tamper-proof clasp work?
The UTW01 closes with a snap-fit plastic clasp that breaks visibly if the band is removed, so it cannot be passed to another person. It is a single-use band that is cut off after the event or stay.
What is the read range of the UTW01?
0.5 to 3 m with a handheld reader and up to 8 m with a portal or gate reader. It works on 860–960 MHz, which covers India’s 865–868 MHz UHF band. Range on the wrist varies with reader power, antenna and placement.
Is the UTW01 waterproof?
Yes. It is made from waterproof PVC rated IP68, so it suits waterparks, resort day passes, marathons and hospital use.
Can the wristbands be custom printed?
Yes. Full-colour printing is available for your logo, event name, barcode or QR code, in adult and child sizes.
Which reader do I need?
Any UHF EPC Gen2 reader that operates in India’s 865–868 MHz band: a handheld for spot checks at a door, or a fixed reader with antennas at a portal for hands-free entry lanes.
