Overview
What the thermal paper RFID wristband is for
This is a one-time wristband made for ticketing and event access control. The band is thermal paper with an RFID chip embedded, so visitor details are printed at the moment of issue on a thermal printer and the same band is then read electronically at the gate. It suits box offices, registration desks and walk-in counters where names, dates or ticket types are not known in advance.
Pre-print plus print on demand
A typical workflow has three steps:
- Pre-print. Your logo, colours and fixed artwork are printed on the bands to your design, leaving a blank area.
- Print at issue. The counter’s thermal printer adds the visitor name, date, zone or barcode in that blank area.
- Read at the gate. The reader validates the embedded chip, while staff can still check the printed details by eye.
Choosing the chip
UHF, NFC/HF and MIFARE chips can be embedded. HF and MIFARE bands are tapped on a reader, and NFC bands can also be read by a phone; UHF bands can be read from a distance at entry lanes, and in India UHF RFID uses the 865–868 MHz band.
