Overview
How the PVC dual button RFID wristband works
This is a flat 210 × 30 mm PVC strap with a passive RFID chip sealed inside. It is wrapped round the wrist and fastened with two buttons where the ends overlap, so the fit is set when the band is put on at the gate. It is a disposable band: issued once, worn for the visit and cut off afterwards.
Where it fits
The band was designed for revenue and crowd control at amusement parks and leisure centres, where each paying visitor gets a band that opens rides, lockers or food counters for the day. The same band is used for patient identification on admission, access control and cashless payments at events, race timing and social media check-ins at brand activations.
HF or UHF chip
- HF (13.56 MHz): NTAG203/213, I-CODE, MIFARE Ultralight or MIFARE Classic 1K for tap-to-enter turnstiles and cashless counters. NTAG chips can also be read by NFC phones.
- UHF: Alien Higgs 3 for reading at a distance, such as gate lanes and timing points.
