What is the read range of this 13.56 MHz HF RFID tag?

The small HF RFID tag reads from 0 to 5 centimetres, which is normal for 13.56 MHz HF technology and suits tap on readers and NFC style scanning. Where items must be read several metres away, a UHF tag on the Indian 865 to 867 MHz band is the right choice instead.

Does this HF RFID label work on metal surfaces?

Standard HF RFID labels such as this 30 x 15 mm tag are not made for direct mounting on metal, because metal detunes the antenna and weakens or blocks the read. For metal assets an on metal tag is needed, while on plastic, paper, wood and glass the small HF tag performs normally.
