LF vs HF for Access Control — Which to Choose?

LF 125kHz (EM4100, HID Prox): Legacy standard, very cost-effective, widely supported by existing access control panels. Best if you're replacing existing LF cards or adding to an existing system.
HF 13.56MHz (MIFARE, ISO 14443): More secure (encrypted), faster, supports multiple applications on one card (access + attendance + canteen). Recommended for new installations.
UHF 860–960MHz: Best for vehicle access and long-range reading (parking gates, toll, warehouse entry). Not typically used for personnel door access due to range.
